Hand-Crafted Long Shoulder Bag With Octopus Design Made From Vintage Fabric & Satin
Hand-made by Holly Of Galisteo. This adorable long shoulder bag is made from reclaimed clothing and vintage fabric. There is an octopus made from vintage fabric sewn on to the front along with loads of satin, velvet, and embroidered fabric depicting the ocean waves.The octopus has a decorative embroidery for the little suction cups.
There are two vintage buttons for the eyes, vintage ribbon trimming the opening, and the stitching along the purse is done entirely by hand with embroidery thread. It has lots of stray bits adding to the charm and interest. Yarn is also thrown into the mix.
The closure is a flap with two silver buttons and a weighted, braided, long strip with a heavy clay bead on the end. It is fully lined and has a pocket inside to keep things you need to find quickly.
It has a very long strap as Holly said it is meant to be worn across the chest (like a messenger bag) and kept in front of you as you walk (a very common practice where she is from). The purse itself is made from chartreuse linen fabric.
It is also zig-zag stitched and double stitched, so it will last for a very long time and is very sturdy.
